A dove was sitting on a tree branch nearby. He saw the poor ant in trouble. Quickly, the dove plucked a large leaf and dropped it into the pond near the ant. The ant climbed onto the leaf. The leaf floated safely to the bank, and the ant climbed out. "Thank you, kind dove," said the ant. "I will help you one day." A few days later, a hunter came. He saw the dove and aimed his gun. She looked at every tree and every leaf. Suddenly, she stopped. She pointed her stick at a pile of brown leaves. Sam ran back to her. "What is it?" he asked. Grandmother moved the leaves. All the animals laughed at her. “You’ll never win a race!” said the monkey. One day, the animals planned a race. The rabbit, deer, and monkey joined. Turtle said, “I want to race too.” Everyone giggled on him, but he joined the race. The race began. The rabbit ran very fast, but he stopped to eat carrots. The deer jumped ahead, but got tired and slept on the roadside. The monkey swung from trees, but fell and got stuck. The turtle kept walking slowly, step by step.
